Lakers Defeat Celtics to Win Second Consecutive N.B.A. Title
The Los Angeles Lakers, playing from behind for most of Game
7, surged in the final minutes to defeat the Boston Celtics
and capture the N.B.A. title for the second consecutive
season and the 16th time in their history.
In a game marked by its physical play, the Lakers and Kobe
Bryant, who struggled from the field, rallied late in the
fourth quarter and then held on to win. The Celtics dominated
through three and a half quarters but watched the
championship slip away in the final minutes.
