Nadal Completes Career Grand Slam With U.S. Open Title
Rafael Nadal captured the men's singles title at the United
States Open on Monday night, defeating Novak Djokovic of
Serbia, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, in a final that had been delayed
by rain.
By winning the U.S. Open for the first time, Nadal, a
24-year-old from Spain, became the seventh man to complete
the career Grand Slam. It was also his third Grand Slam
singles title in a row after his triumphs at the French Open
and at Wimbledon this year.
