Charles K. Kao, Willard S. Boyle and George E. Smith Share Nobel Prize in Physics
Three scientists shared the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physics.
Charles K. Kao won half the prize for his work on fiber
optics. Willard S. Boyle and George E. Smith of Bell
Laboratories shared the other half of the prize for their
invention of the CCD sensor.
