Sen. John McCain Wins Republican Nomination for Senate in Arizona, A.P. Reports
Senator John McCain won the Republican Senate primary in
Arizona on Tuesday, beating back a challenge from J. D.
Hayworth, 51, a conservative former radio talk show host and
congressman.
The victory solidified the political comeback of Mr. McCain,
who lost to Barack Obama in last year's presidential race and
initially faced a tough primary challenge from Mr. Hayworth.
